After a first round of successful cross-national collaboration trials the iCamp project is preparing for its next round of trials and is inviting facilitators teaching master students in topics related to the use of new media to join in a new educational experiment.

The idea is to support the collaboration of students across different countries in Europe who are going to do some project based work. The pedagogical aim for iCamp is to support them in self-directing their work and thus gain competence in this aspect. Students will be guided in keeping a learning diary and will be negotiating a learning contract. In terms of technology we are focusing on social software applications and generally on distributed environments. We are not going to bring them together in one big LMS, but let them rather use small tools they would use anyway or can use for other purposes in the future, such as Social Software tools (e.g. weblogs, etc.).

For facilitators outside the consortium who are willing to take part in this experiment iCamp will give away one trip (travel, hotel and conference fee) for this years European Technology Enhanced Learning Conference, the EC-TEL 07, which will take place in Crete in September 2007.

It will be an exciting experience for facilitators and students! Get more information on the iCamp website or get in contact with me.
